Zumi himself started his career when he participated in the Abang None event in 2001. He represented South Jakarta at that time.
Next, Zumi paved his career in the entertainment world by acting in around 15 soap operas, including Tersanjung 6 and Ku Tlah Jatuh Cinta.
After entertainment, political career became the next choice. He participated in the Regional Head Election and was elected as the Regent of East Tanjung Jabung for the period of 2011-2015.
His performance as Governor was quite remarkable. He received two awards in the form of the Unqualified Opinion predicate from the Indonesian Supreme Audit Agency, and even once sealed an unauthorized oil company in his area.
Until finally, he became the Governor of Jambi and everything turned around. Zumi got involved in a corruption case and was suspected of receiving 40 billion rupiahs and 1 unit of Toyota Alphard. He had to be imprisoned in 2018. And this year, he has to face the reality of being divorced by his wife.
