Facing Zefi's Death, Arya, Karen Idol's Husband, Was Not in the Apartment When Their Daughter Fell From the Balcony

Karen's family said Arya only came to the funeral home briefly. "He came earlier but then left. We also have to take care. No, we didn't have a chance to talk to Karen," said Wemmy Amanupunyo, Karen's uncle and lawyer, when met at RSUP Fatmawati, South Jakarta, on Saturday, (8/2).

"Well... it's like this. He didn't say anything," he continued.

1. Arya Was Not at the Scene When His Daughter Died

Zefi was known to have fallen from the apartment balcony at 10:00 PM and when the incident occurred, Arya was not at home. According to Wemmy, Arya was known to be working at that time and he did not know if anyone was taking care of Zefi or not.

"Well, I'm not brave enough to give a statement about that. But during the incident, the father indeed did not know. From what I heard, he was working," said Wemmy.

2. Strong and Silent

Knowing that his daughter had passed away, Arya appeared strong when he arrived at the funeral home. He did not cry, only remained silent without giving any explanation to anyone there.

"Just stay silent. Yes, he is strong. But what we regret is what happened earlier. Why did the mother only find out after 12 hours and the one who informed her was the police, not the father. So there's something strange there," explained Wemmy.

3. There is Allegation of Negligence

From this case, Wemmy suspects there is an element of negligence in Zefi's care. Although the family has not yet reported to the police, Wemmy is confident that this case will be investigated.

"So even if we don't report it, the police still have to conduct an investigation because there has been a loss of life. That's how it is. So there is a negligence clause, right? In my opinion. But the police will have to clarify with the father, the mother. Then proceed with the investigation, and so on. Only then will we find out the cause of death. But in my opinion, there is negligence there," he explained.
