Feeling Burdened, Cinta Penelope Wants a Quick Divorce to Send Her Husband Back to Turkey

Kapanlagi.com - The continuation of the divorce trial between Cinta Penelope and Taha Gokhan Arikan was held at the South Jakarta Religious Court on Tuesday (15/8/2023). The agenda for today was the examination of witnesses. Unfortunately, the trial had to be postponed because the summons did not reach the defendant.

“Today's agenda was actually the examination of witnesses. However, because the summons to the defendant, which was sent a few days ago, did not reach or was not received by the defendant. That's why the judge requested the trial to be postponed until the 29th of August,” said Irsan Gusfrianto, Cinta Penelope's legal representative, after the trial.

However, Cinta Penelope's party had already brought two witnesses for today's trial. “The witnesses are close people to Cinta. That's why it's frustrating because we have prepared two witnesses, they have come from afar, but the procedure requires that they be summoned first. We hoped that the defendant would receive the letter, but in fact, no one received it,” said Irsan Gusfrianto.

1. Husband Still Lives in Cinta Penelope's House

Irsan Gusfrianto also said that the Turkish man is still living in Cinta Penelope's house because he doesn't have a house or relatives in Indonesia.

"So, what else can we do? Because the defendant doesn't have a family, he is currently staying in our client's house, Cinta's house, but Cinta doesn't live there anymore, they have separated houses, only the defendant is there," he explained.

2. Wants a Quick Divorce

Not only allowing her husband to stay in her house, Cinta Penelope apparently still takes care of her husband's meals. Therefore, Cinta Penelope hopes that the divorce process will be quickly resolved so that she can send Taha Gokhan Arikan back to his home country.

"Basically, she hopes that the judge will quickly decide the case so that Cinta can send her husband back home. He is still her husband at the moment. Because if he stays in Indonesia, it becomes her responsibility, and she still takes care of his meals because he doesn't know where to buy food that suits his taste, only Cinta knows all of that," explained Irsan Gusfrianto.

3. Feeling Burdened

Cinta Penelope's party also admitted feeling burdened if Taha Gokhan Arikan still lives in Indonesia.

“Just waiting for the decision, if the decision has been made, the defendant or her husband will be taken home, returned to his parents. The longer the defendant stays in Indonesia, the more burden it will be for our client, afraid of what might happen,” said Irsan Gusfrianto.
