Singer Reza Artamevia has been sentenced to 10 months in prison by the Judges of the East Jakarta District Court. The mother of two children is considered guilty of drug abuse.
This sentence is lower than the demand of the Public Prosecutor (JPU) who demanded a prison sentence of 1 year and 6 months for Reza.Â
For her actions, Reza Artamevia is charged with Article 112 paragraph 1 subsidiary Article 127 paragraph 1 of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.
"Reza Artamevia is found guilty of drug abuse. Imposing a sentence of 10 months in prison on Reza Artamevia," said the Chairman of the Judges.Â
Hearing the verdict given by the judges, Reza Artamevia's legal representative, Leidermen Ujiawan, chose to think first until given one week's time ahead.
"Think first, Your Honor," said Leidermen Ujiawan.
As is known, Reza Artamevia was apprehended at a restaurant in the Jatinegara area, East Jakarta on September 4, 2020. From the arrest, the police found evidence in the form of one clip of crystal meth weighing 0.78 grams.
The police also seized a smoking device or bong, as well as a lighter and a wallet that were confiscated by the police. Currently, Reza Artamevia is undergoing rehabilitation at BNN Lido, Cogombong, Bogor, West Java, since September 2020.
