Full of Tears, 11 Portraits of Tamara Tyasmara Remembering Dante's Habits on His Birthday

The 29th birthday moment on January 23 became a heavy day for Tamara Tyasmara. Losing her son, Adante Khalif Pramudityo or Dante, who passed away in January last year, left a deep void on her special day.

"Usually, on his birthday, he would be the most busy, especially if there were packages. My friends often send cakes, and he would wait by the gate. Like there was a bell, he would definitely run to bring it inside. So when the cake arrived yesterday, it really felt like Dante was no longer here," Tamara said when met in the Gudang Peluru area, Tebet, South Jakarta, on Monday (27/1/2025).

Dante's departure still feels very real in Tamara's daily life. She also revealed that her son's belongings are still well cared for. Some items have been moved for the purpose of a recitation held to commemorate the one-year anniversary of Dante's passing.

"What is inside was taken out because there is going to be a study event," Tamara revealed.

However, not all of Dante's belongings were kept. Some have been given to close people, such as school friends and relatives. Tamara also chose to keep certain items that have high emotional value.

"Some I keep that he really liked, but the others have been distributed. Some went to school friends, some to relatives, they have been shared," she explained.

Dante's clothes also did not escape attention. Tamara felt it was better to distribute clothes that are no longer used so they can be useful for others. In fact, some of Dante's clothes were shared through her social media.

“Yesterday I also shared some clothes. I only keep the ones he likes to wear because it feels sad if they go unused. Yesterday, I also shared some on TikTok, just to make sure they get used,” she explained.

One of Dante's most memorable habits is when Tamara prepares food or buys snacks for her son. Even after Dante is gone, Tamara still continues that habit as a form of remembrance.

"The habit of preparing food, buying snacks. Especially when going out of town, I usually buy souvenirs. That hasn’t gone away from me. Whether I like it or not, I still buy them, sometimes I place them in front of his photo," Tamara revealed in a soft voice.

Dante's departure itself has brought deep sorrow to Tamara and her family. The 6-year-old boy died in the swimming pool at Taman Tirta Mas, Pondok Kelapa, East Jakarta. In this case, the panel of judges has found Yudha Arfandi guilty of premeditated murder of Dante and sentenced him to 20 years in prison.
