10 Portraits of Tamara Tyasmara Holding a Prayer Gathering to Commemorate the 1st Anniversary of Dante's Passing, Trying to be Sincere Despite the Difficulty

Tamara Tyasmara reminisces about the passing of her son, Dante Khalif Pramudityo, who passed away a year ago on January 27, 2024. To commemorate the first anniversary of Dante's passing, Tamara held a prayer gathering in the Gudang Peluru area, Tebet, South Jakarta, on Monday (27/1/2025).

"I could only send prayers, commemorating this one year which is definitely very heavy because it still reminds me of how things were a year ago," Tamara said when met after the event.

Tamara expressed her gratitude for the support from family and friends that continues to flow until now. The presence of her closest ones gives her the strength to keep moving forward even though the memories of Dante still linger deeply in her heart.

"But thank God everything is fine, many friends and family also came," said this mother of one.

A year has passed, Tamara admits that accepting the departure of her child is not an easy thing. However, the support from loved ones is the main reason that keeps her strong in facing life.

“What makes me strong is first Dante, second my mom, family, and my friends. Without them, I don't think I could be this strong,” said the 29-year-old woman.

Tamara also revealed that she had visited Dante's grave before this prayer event. “I went yesterday,” she briefly said when asked about visiting her son's grave.

Regarding her sincerity about Dante's departure, Tamara admitted that she is still learning to accept that bitter reality. Although it is difficult, she is trying to let go so that Dante can rest peacefully in his final resting place.

"Yes, whether I like it or not, I have to be sincere, but being sincere is hard. If I say I’m sincere, I’m not really sincere, I don’t know how to explain it," Tamara said with a trembling voice.

She added that the process of accepting loss takes time and patience. Although it feels heavy, Tamara continues to try to move forward while praying for her son's happiness in the afterlife.

“But whether I like it or not, I have to be sincere, especially since it has been a year. I want Dante to be happy there, insyaallah here I am slowly learning to be sincere,” she concluded the conversation.

Dante's departure itself is a deep sorrow for Tamara and the family. The 6-year-old boy died in the swimming pool of Taman Tirta Mas, Pondok Kelapa, East Jakarta. In this case, the panel of judges has found Yudha Arfandi guilty of premeditated murder of Dante and sentenced him to 20 years in prison.
