Sarwendah's attorney, Chris Sam Siwu, stated that they had previously filed a complaint with the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) regarding issues involving children amid the conflict with Ruben Onsu.
According to Chris, this step was taken as an effort to seek resolution through the appropriate channels while ensuring that the interests of the children remain the top priority. He emphasized that the complaint was submitted before Ruben's side approached KPAI.
"We have also filed a complaint with KPAI before Bang Minola arrived. Our letter dated the 21st has been sent, and we will also conduct a hearing," said Chris Sam Siwu when met at the National Commission on Violence Against Women, Tuesday (23/6/2026).
Chris explained that his party intentionally brought the issue to the relevant institution to prevent it from escalating into a one-sided judgment on social media. According to him, KPAI, the National Commission on Violence Against Women, and the courts are the appropriate institutions to seek solutions to the problems being faced.
"We believe that KPAI is the right institution, the court is the right institution, and the National Commission on Violence Against Women is the right institution. So we hope there will be no judgment on social media because we will convey everything to the appropriate institutions," he continued.
In addition, Chris also responded to various public comments questioning the closeness of the children with people in Sarwendah's environment. He believes that the attention and affection received by the children should not be viewed as something negative.
"Regarding the children, which is more of a problem? Our children are hated by people or our children are loved by people? If the issue is that our child is loved by others, where is the logic in that?" he said.
Furthermore, Chris emphasized that all processes related to the children will be conducted privately. This step is taken to maintain the psychological condition and comfort of the children who are now growing up.
"We hope everything is done privately for the sake of the children. We are trying to avoid excessive media coverage," concluded Chris Sam Siwu.
