Never Made It Difficult for Ruben Onsu to Meet His Children, Sarwendah's Lawyer Touches on Act 39

Sarwendah's attorney, Chris Sam Siwu, denied allegations that his client made it difficult for Ruben Onsu to meet their children. According to Chris, Ruben's access to meet the children has always been open and what is needed is just good communication between both parents.

Chris expressed his surprise at the emergence of the assumption that Sarwendah was blocking Ruben's meetings with his children. He emphasized that the whereabouts and residence of the children are clearly known, so there is no reason to claim that there are restrictions on access.

"Regarding the difficulties concerning the children, I would like to clarify that our client has never made it difficult. Just prove to us where the difficulties lie regarding the children. What exists is the communication between the parents that needs to be improved in our opinion," said Chris Sam Siwu when met at the National Commission on Violence Against Women, Tuesday (23/6/2026).

According to Chris, the process of meeting between Ruben and the children is actually very simple. He believes that communication is the main factor so that both parties can arrange the right time to meet.

"If it's said to be difficult, I find it amusing. Where is the difficulty? The house is there, the children's place of residence is also there. It just takes communication, the father contacts the mother, finds out what days the children are free, and then the father comes to pick them up. It's that simple," he explained.

Chris then mentioned the provisions outlined in Deed 39 that had been agreed upon earlier. According to him, the document does not stipulate who is responsible for taking the children, but only regulates the duration of time the children spend with each parent.

"Do not understand that we are not taking the children as being difficult. In the agreement of Deed 39, it is clearly stated that there is no regulation regarding who takes the children. What is included is only how many days they are together. So do not interpret it as us not taking them and then being said to be difficult," Chris emphasized.

Regarding Ruben's meeting with the children at the airport before departing for Umrah, Chris mentioned that it was an initiative from Sarwendah. He said his client intentionally brought the children together with their father to maintain a good family relationship.

"His mother's desire is indeed to reunite the children with their father. Who says no? In my opinion, this is just a matter of miscommunication. Everything is done for the sake of the children," concluded Chris Sam Siwu.
