Jessica Iskandar Feels Relieved and Sincere That Her Father's Body Has Been Cremated

Kapanlagi.com - The body of Hardy Iskandar, the father of actress Jessica Iskandar, has been cremated at Sentosa Crematorium, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (1/1/2025). This process was carried out according to the late man's wishes, who wanted his ashes to be scattered at sea. The artist, affectionately known as Jedar, explained that the cremation process is still ongoing and the ashes will be scattered once they have completely cooled.

"For now, my late father is still in the cremation process. So we are waiting until the ashes cool down. After that, according to his wishes, the ashes will be thrown into the sea," said Jessica Iskandar at RSPAD Gatot Subroto, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (1/1/2025).

The decision to scatter the ashes has been confirmed as part of Hardy Iskandar's last message to his family. Jessica emphasized that this wish was directly conveyed by her father to her mother.

"Yes, at my father's request. But he told my mom," said Jessica.

1. Not Yet Knowing the Location for the Ash Scattering

With this, the family feels relieved that there are no additional responsibilities regarding the storage of the ashes, as per the wishes of the deceased. This decision is also in line with Hardy's principle of always prioritizing the comfort of those around him. However, regarding the exact location for scattering the ashes, Jessica admitted there is still no certainty.

"It seems like it will be at sea, maybe in Ancol. We haven't discussed it yet, so I don't know," she said.

2. Hoping to Participate in the Ash Scattering Ceremony

Jedar hopes to participate in the ceremony, although she has to adjust to the condition of her child who still needs full attention.

"I hope I can join later. Because I also have to stand by since my baby doesn't have a sitter yet. So I'm still leaving him with family," she said.

3. Sad When Remembering Dad's Illness

When reminiscing about her father's struggle against illness, Jessica admitted to feeling a sense of relief even though the loss is still felt.

"For me, I can say I feel relieved. Because I actually feel sorry to see dad has been sick for a long time. Then seeing dad unable to do anything, that hurts me more," she said.

Hardy Iskandar has been known to have experienced declining health for a long time. Jessica also remembers her father's last messages, expressing that he did not want to be a burden to the family.

"Because when he talked to me, my dad was really sad about being sick like this. He said he didn't want to be sick. He didn't want to trouble mom. Dad would rather, instead of being sick like this, just want to die, to end it," she revealed.

4. Remembering Dad's Kindness

For Jessica, her father's desire to end his suffering soon shows how much he loved his family, especially his mother. Although it was difficult, Jessica and her family ultimately accepted Hardy's departure sincerely.

"The family has also actually accepted it sincerely. So there’s nothing holding us back. Because personally, I see that rather than dad being sick all the time, unable to do anything but enduring the pain continuously, it's better for us to accept it sincerely," she explained.

"Dad was also a good person. Basically, the points in his life have been achieved. So for me, seeing dad sick was more suffering. If now it’s definitely sadder, but more sincere and relieved," she concluded.
