Kadri Presents Farid Harja's Karmila in Modern Version, LiLo KLa Project as the Producer

Kapanlagi.com - Age 60 does not hinder Kadri Mohamad from taking bold steps in his music career. For decades as a band member, the 61-year-old man decided to release his first solo single.

The singer known as The Singing Lawyer produced a single titled Karmila, a song previously performed by Farid Hardja in the 70s. Kadri performed the single with a modern approach to music.

Interestingly, his friend LiLo Kla Project acted as the producer. Kadri is also supported by Nagaswara, his record label, which is ready to distribute his latest solo work.

"It all started when I showed LiLo the singing style of several singers when they performed the song Karmila in front of him. When I showcased my own character along with Vibra, LiLo said I was crazy," Kadri said at Anjungan Sarinah, Thamrin, Central Jakarta, on Monday (1/7/2024).

"The song Karmila is already synonymous with Farid Harja. But I tried to sing it again with my own character," Kadri added.

LiLo herself feels amazed after hearing Kadri perform the song Karmila in his own version. Moreover, the song that tells the story of an imaginary young love created by Farid Hardja is considered as his best work in his time.

"I want the current generation to easily respond to this song. A unique age-difference love anthem that becomes one of Farid Hardja's best works," said LiLo.

2. Change Appearance

In addition, another big step taken by Kadri for his solo project is by redesigning himself. He boldly changes his appearance to keep up with the times.

"By changing my appearance and making the promotion of this song colorful, the goal is to be accepted among young people or Gen Z. One of the things I designed is my hair. I let my hair grow long to look younger," he concluded.
