"I am very happy to be able to sing this song together with Jaz. Because I also really like his songs. I am gladly embracing this collaboration," said Mawar de Jongh when met in the FX Senayan area, Central Jakarta, on Friday (28/6/2024).
"We have prepared thoroughly since 2020. The process took us a month to discuss this song through zoom meetings," he added.
Bryan Domani's lover mentioned that the song "Bukan Dengan Dia" is very different from the songs he has ever sung, especially in terms of the meaning of each lyric.
"The song is definitely different. This song tells the story of a couple who are not destined to be together. They love each other, but cannot be together. Maybe this theme is quite relatable among the community," said Mawar de Jongh.
Jaz never expected and never imagined that he could duet with Mawar Eva de Jongh. Because they are under different record labels. Mawar is under Trinity Optima Production while Jaz is under Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia.
"I also didn't expect to be able to blend in quickly with Mawar. I thought she was very quiet, turns out she's not, it's cool," said Jaz Hayat.
During one month working on the song "Bukan Dengan Dia," Jaz admitted that he didn't have difficulties in building chemistry with Mawar Eva de Jongh. However, he did have trouble finding the right basic tone that suited Mawar.
"Sometimes it suits me but not Mawar, and vice versa. It's also difficult to match our voices," said Jaz Hayat.
Mawar De Jongh and Jaz feel happy because their song has received positive responses from fans after being released on digital music platforms. They feel that this song is able to bring a sense of sadness to the listeners.
"I hope to represent friends who have experienced the same story, hopefully we can be melancholic together," concluded Mawar de Jongh.
