Lawyer Reveals Strong Reasons for Nikita Mirzani's Appeal

Kapanlagi.com - Nikita Mirzani's move to appeal the prison sentence she received is based on deep disappointment with the judicial process. Her legal team accuses the judges of ignoring dozens of pieces of evidence and key witness testimonies they presented.

Nikita's lawyer, Galih Rakasiwi, bluntly stated that none of the 57 pieces of evidence they submitted, including testimonies from fact witnesses and expert witnesses, were considered in the judge's decision.

"Because it is based on evidence, based on witnesses. Not a single one of our witnesses was considered; everything was sidelined," said Galih Rakasiwi with a disappointed tone when met at the South Jakarta District Court on Monday, (3/11/2025).

"Out of the 57 pieces of evidence we presented, including witness testimonies and expert opinions, none of this is considered, where are the considerations? There are absolutely no legal considerations," he continued.

For this reason, they are determined to pursue an appeal. The goal is to convince the High Court that there has been an error in the judicial process at the first level.

"That’s why we are trying to convince the High Court that there is an error here. So it needs to be re-examined in relation to the legal considerations of our evidence, our witnesses, including expert testimony," Galih explained.

Although aware that the appeal process carries the risk of a heavier ruling, Nikita's side does not feel afraid. They are confident in the evidence they possess.

"As long as we are confident, as long as we can prove it, why should we be afraid to appeal?" she asserted.
