Loh Kok Tum Band, Relaxed Project of Famous Musicians Ready to Tour Across Indonesia

Kapanlagi.com - Ello, Eno Gitara (drummer of NTRL), Yuke Sampurna (bassist of DEWA), Stevie Item (guitarist of Andra ‘n The Backbone), Magi (drummer of RIF), and Reno Fahreza (Nevach) unite in a new music project called Loh Kok Tum Band (LKTB). This project serves as a space for fun outside their routines with their respective bands.

Who would have thought, this relaxed concept has caught the attention of promoter Bimo Maxim. Soon, LKTB will embark on a concert tour to 10 cities, starting at the end of January 2025.

"I think there’s another concept that these musicians are experiencing. The kids nowadays can see Ello drumming, Yuke singing, right here," said Bimo Maxim at a press conference at CGV FX Senayan, Central Jakarta, Friday (27/12/2024).

Bimo also revealed the 10 cities that will be visited during their tour. "There are Medan, Pekanbaru, Padang, Palembang, Lampung, Solo, Semarang, Lombok, Banjarmasin, and Balikpapan," he added.

Ello explained that LKTB brings a festive atmosphere for the audience. Although they do not yet have a single, they remain confident in providing an unforgettable experience through their concert.

"We don’t want to focus too much on the fact that we don’t have a single yet. The excitement is that we don’t have a single but we’re already touring 15 cities. What we present might be a night that can’t be forgotten," said Ello.

1. A Rare Concept

Eno added that LKTB offers a concept that cannot be found in the bands of the personnel's origins. One of its uniqueness is the new roles taken on by each member.

"Maybe people know Magi plays drums, Yuke plays bass, but here Yuke can dance. They don’t know that he turns out to be great at dancing. I usually play drums, but here I can also sing and play bass," explained Eno.

Yuke Sampurna asked the audience not to take their performance too seriously. He promised a concert full of fun and joy.

"My hope in the 10 cities later, don't expect too seriously because we are not a serious band. But if you want to have serious fun, watch Loh Kok Tum Band," said Yuke with a smile.

2. Unique Riders

Yuke also discussed their unique riders. "In the backstage, I need jamu, an herbal drink that makes us all happy. Unlike DEWA, which doesn’t have various riders, just eggs. For Loh Kok Tum Band, it has to be special, so the riders are jamu, healthy," he revealed.

Yuke also talked about the involvement of a female collaborator in their project. "Yesterday we wanted to showcase a figure. If it’s all men, we wanted to add a sweet touch, that’s why there’s a female figure (Wika Salim)," he concluded.
