Losing in Trademark Lawsuit, Minola Sebayang Asserts that Ruben Onsu Doesn't Need to Close Business

Kapanlagi.com - The name of the artist and entrepreneur, Ruben Onsu, recently became a hot topic among netizens after he lost in a lawsuit over the ownership of the Bensu trademark. Ruben's attorney, Minola Sebayang, revealed that despite losing the lawsuit, Ruben will not close his ayam geprek outlet.

"But for class 43, there are 2 certificates that have not been revoked. What does it mean? PT OPP (Onsu Pangan Perkasa) is still allowed to open outlets like today. There is no need to close, because we still have 2 certificates in class 43," said Minola during a press conference at his office, Palma One, Jalan H Rasuna Said, Kuningan Jakarta Selatan, on Saturday (13/6/2020).

1. Change Name and Logo

Furthermore, Minola revealed that Bensu only needs to change the name and logo for the existing Geprek Bensu outlets. According to him, this name and logo change will not affect the customers in the culinary business.

"What needs to be done is to change the font or name form. Because the certificate is for Geprek Bensu. Even if it is changed, it will not affect the society," he continued.

Minola also emphasized that Bensu itself is not a product name stolen by his client. He wants to clarify the false news about Ruben Onsu.

"If there is an image of us as thieves, please correct it, we still have the Geprek Bensu brand certificate. It was only partially canceled, only 6 out of 8 certificates in class 43," he added.

The dispute between Ruben Onsu and I Am Geprek Bensu surfaced after Sarwendah's husband filed a lawsuit in court for the trademark rights of the Bensu brand. Unfortunately, Ayah Betrand Peto lost in the court ruling.
