Receiving Support from the Diaspora to Japanese Procedures, Ricky Siahaan's Remains Can Soon Be Returned

The news of Ricky Siahaan's passing has prompted many parties to assist in the process of repatriating his remains from Japan to Indonesia. Not only the family and management of Seringai, but assistance also came from the government and the diaspora community.

Ricky passed away on April 19, 2025, and the process of repatriation took nearly a week due to various procedures in the country where he passed away. Nevertheless, Ricky's remains could arrive in the homeland more quickly thanks to the solid handling from many parties.

“On behalf of the family and Seringai, thank you for the support from the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo, promoters, friends from the diaspora in Japan, as well as Seringai fans (Serigala Militia) in Taiwan and Japan,” said Wendi Putranto, the manager of the band Seringai, at the Sentosa Funeral Home, RSPAD Gatot Subroto, Central Jakarta, Thursday (24/4/2025). Here are the details.

In this difficult situation, assistance from the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Tokyo has become the key to the smooth administration. This includes the communication process with the police and hospitals in Japan.

Wendy revealed that an autopsy was initially going to be conducted because Ricky passed away suddenly abroad. However, after an explanation from Ricky's wife regarding his medical history, the autopsy was ultimately deemed unnecessary.

"When the wife went there to meet with the police and hospital officials, she explained the deceased's medical history. From the Japanese side and the hospital, it was okay, no autopsy was needed, which is why Ricky's return could be expedited by one day," said Wendi.

According to the initial plan, Ricky's body was scheduled to arrive in Indonesia on Friday, April 25, 2025. However, thanks to the smooth process, the body arrived earlier than expected. "He was supposed to arrive in the homeland tomorrow, Friday," said Wendi.

“When the incident happened, the late man's wife followed to Tokyo, and the friends from Seringai stayed there to accompany. Except for the crew members who had already gone home on April 21 along with the band equipment,” Wendy explained.

Three core members of Seringai, namely Arian, Khemod, and Sammy, were directly involved in handling the process at the police station, hospital, and coordinating with the embassy. “So during the process at the police, the embassy, and the hospital, Arian, Semi, and Khemod were present,” said Wendi.
