Rendy Kjarnett Reveals His Father's Medical History Before Passing Away, Only Met at 27 Years Old

Kapanlagi.com - Rendy Kjarnett is mourning the death of his father, Ernest Kjarnett, who passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025, in Hua Hin, Thailand. His father died at the age of 80 after struggling with several serious illnesses.

"Dad actually had heart issues, so I was thinking if it was his heart. Then yesterday the doctor diagnosed that dad also had Alzheimer’s. So the Alzheimer’s has been severe for the last 2-3 months," said Rendy Kjarnett at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang, Sunday (1/5/2025).

The Alzheimer’s that Ernest suffered from caused him many limitations. In the last three months, the late father could no longer use various devices such as mobile phones and wallets.

"That’s why he no longer used social media, didn’t hold a handphone, didn’t hold a wallet, didn’t hold anything, because he forgot, couldn’t access anymore. He forgot his password, forgot all his pins," said Rendy Kjarnett.

1. Age Factors and Other Diseases

In addition to Alzheimer's, Ernest also has health issues with his liver. Rendy admitted that he did not know the details of that condition but mentioned that old age is also a major factor.

"As for the liver, how about liver failure? I can't say much, the important thing is that the consumption of food and drinks is excessive, it's like piling up. He's already 80 years old," Rendy explained.

2. Just Met Dad at 27 Years Old

Lady Nayoan's husband himself just reunited with his father at the age of 27, after being apart for a long time. This made him not fully understand Ernest's health condition beforehand.

"I also met my dad when I was 27 years old, now it's like this. He didn't want to be a burden. Finally, I said, 'Okay, I will find a ticket there as soon as possible'," he said.

3. Devastated by Father's Passing

Ernest's departure was a heavy blow for Rendy, who felt there was still much time to spend together. This farewell moment feels even more painful because last October, his father's condition still seemed fine.

"Yes, if you say it's heavy, it's really heavy; I still can't believe it. In October, everything was still okay. Dad was still healthy, still calling, still video calling. Still joking around with us," concluded Rendy Kjarnett.
