Jessica Iskandar Remembers Moments with Her Beloved Father, Once Accompanied Her for Filming in Sulawesi at the Beginning of Her Career

Kapanlagi.com - Artist Jessica Iskandar expressed her relief after witnessing her father's long struggle, Hardy Iskandar, against illness. For Jessica, her father's passing marks the end of the suffering that the deceased had long endured.

"I can say I'm relieved because I felt sorry seeing dad in pain for so long and then seeing him unable to do anything was even more painful because when dad talked to me, he was really sad about being sick like this," Jessica Iskandar said at RSPAD, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (1/1/2025).

"Dad didn't want to be sick, dad didn't want to trouble mom, dad just wanted to end it if it was better than suffering (to pass away)," she added.

1. Sincere After the Departure of the Late

Although it is difficult, Jessica feels that the situation is better than having to continue seeing her father in pain. She mentioned that the family has accepted Hardy Iskandar's departure.

"So I see that right now dad is no longer in pain, I see that dad is relieved. The family has accepted it, there’s nothing holding us back. I see that it’s better for dad than to keep suffering, we should accept it since he has so many memories with us," she said.

"Dad was a good person, he has been a successful parent, raised his children, and has many grandchildren. Basically, dad has achieved the points in his life, so for me seeing dad in pain is more suffering, it’s definitely sadder now but more accepted and relieved," added Jessica.

2. Valuable Messages from Father

Jessica also shared valuable messages from her father that she continues to remember. Hardy Iskandar, who has a Betawi background, often conveyed advice in his unique way.

"Dad always spoke with a Betawi tone. Basically, if there’s a problem, dad would say, 'You search for it, you’ll find it. You eat, you’ll be full.' He always said that. It’s like, if you work hard, you’ll get it; if you create problems, then that’s what you’ll get. That’s what dad always reminded me of," Jessica revealed.

3. Moments Together with the Late One

In addition to advice, Jessica also reminisced about various moments spent with her father. She admitted that after her father's passing, many memories suddenly came rushing back.

"Earlier, hugging the photo of the late one, did any memories come to mind? Childhood? It’s not just when hugging the photo. Since dad passed away, it’s like a flashback of our moments together talking, going out, spending time together," she said.

4. Memories at the Start of My Career

One of the most memorable moments for Jessica is Hardy's support at the beginning of her career. Her father, who is known for his affection, often accompanied Jessica in various activities.

"I remember when I first became an artist, dad would often accompany me to shoots, taking me all the way to Sulawesi, everywhere I went. So I always remember dad's impression as good in my eyes because his love for me was truly extraordinary," Jessica shared.

For her, her father is a figure who has provided many life lessons, from patience, hard work, to genuine love for the family. She feels fortunate to have a father like Hardy Iskandar, who has laid a strong foundation for his children’s lives.

5. Cremation Process

The cremation process of Hardy Iskandar was conducted at the Sentosa Crematorium, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (1/1/2025). This cremation was the deceased's request to have his ashes scattered at sea. This decision has been agreed upon by the family as a final tribute to Hardy Iskandar.
