Replacing Lukman Sardi, Reza Rahadian is Selected as the Chairman of FFI Committee for the 2021-2023 Period

Kapanlagi.com - Actor Reza Rahadian has been chosen by the Indonesian Film Board (BPI) to become the Chairman of the Indonesian Film Festival Committee for the period 2021-2023. He replaces Lukman Sardi who served during the period 2018-2020.

Reza expressed his joy for the trust given to him. It didn't take long for him to accept the position considering the film industry that has made his name known.

"The BPI colleagues asked me to become the Chairman of the FFI Committee and I accepted. This is not only a form of my love for Indonesian film. But this is my way of giving back to the Indonesian film industry that has played a big role in my life. Hopefully, I can fulfill this task well together with other committee members," said Reza during the launch of FFI 2021 via Zoom, on Thursday (15/7/2021).

1. Garin Nugroho Appointed as the Head of the Jury

Considering his position as the Chairman of the FFI 2021 Committee, Reza Rahadian was given the authority to select committee members. One of the appointed names is director Garin Nugroho as the Head of the Jury. What is Reza's reason for choosing Garin?

"Mas Garin is a figure in the Indonesian film industry who provides opportunities for Indonesian film lovers. Not only his works in Indonesia, but also worldwide through festivals that have become Mas Garin's career journey," explained Reza.

2. Registration is Now Open!

The Indonesian Film Festival 2021 has opened registration for films that want to compete. It includes not only cinema films but also titles available on various streaming services.

The nominations will be announced on October 10, 2021. Meanwhile, the award ceremony will be held on November 10, 2021, following the health protocols implemented by the government.
