Reza Rahadian Accompanies Nadia Habibie to Inaugurate Wisma Habibie Ainun, Reveals Deep Meaning Behind the Historic House

"When I took the time to meet with my grandfather at his private residence, I felt that was where the values of nationalism, democracy, and love grew," Nadia expressed during the press conference for the opening of the Habibie Ainun House.

"I remember very well the first time I entered the house accompanied by my grandfather, he showed me the meaning of the two fish ponds there, the meaning of the interfaith symbols, the meaning of the several doors we enter, all of those have meanings, and the statues made me feel that my grandfather was a very special figure. Because he was not only rich in knowledge, that’s what made him so special," he explained.

"The Habibie Ainun House has been transformed into a presidential house that provides guests with an experience to be inspired to live a more meaningful life. The opening of WHA is to ensure that this legacy can spread more widely," said Nadia.

As the granddaughter of Habibie, Nadia explained again that WHA is a manifestation of the life philosophy of Habibie and Ainun, which upholds love for God, love for fellow humans, and love for human works as a moral compass. 

This philosophy serves as the foundation for the family to unite in carrying out the mandate of Habibie and Ainun so that their private home is beneficial for the people and the nation of Indonesia.

“We hope that the guests can enjoy their journey in the Wisma Habibie and Ainun. May the values and ideals encountered here inspire a more meaningful life journey,” welcomed Nadia Habibie.

“This prayer and hope is immortalized on a plaque in a corner of the wall at WHA during the inauguration of the library building on August 11, 2009, which turned out to be the last birthday of Eyang Ainun before passing away in 2010,” said Nadia.

Meanwhile, Habibie's eldest son, Ilham Habibie, gave a speech and hoped that Wisma Habibie Ainun would provide much inspiration.

"The house that brings family warmth is expected to become an inspiration. Wisma Habibie Ainun will be managed more professionally to provide an interesting experience regarding knowledge and history, as well as to provide a stage for Indonesian culture to shine brighter," explained Ilham.
