Ricky Siahaan Passes Away, Vincent Rompies, NTRL, Ridho Slank, and Raisa Pay Final Respects

Eno, who is known as the drummer of Netral, has many personal memories with the late Ricky. He describes his closeness with Ricky not just as fellow musicians, but also as neighbors.“We have a lot in common as a band and as friends. I also happen to be neighbors with Ricky in Tebet, so we often meet during morning walks. There are many memories in the backstage when we are performing,” said Eno when met at the funeral home.

Moreover, according to Eno, Ricky was known as a musician who always maintained his attitude and personality. He believes that Ricky's personality is the most memorable characteristic for many people."For me, he is one of those musicians who values his personality and attitude. He is very humble," Eno said.

One of the most memorable moments for Eno was when Ricky asked about the first song he learned as a drummer. The question was asked in Ricky's characteristic joking tone."He once asked, ‘No, what was the first drum song you worked on?’ He said, ‘Why did you choose such a difficult one?’" Eno recalled with a smile.

Meanwhile, Bagus also reminisced about his meeting with Ricky while working at Rolling Stone. He mentioned that their interactions often occurred through interviews and casual conversations.“What was it, I forgot, it’s been a long time, back when he was still at Rolling Stone. But there were many, I had the chance to interview him,” said Bagus.

For Eno, his closeness with Ricky also happened because of the family ties that had been established for a long time. He even experienced a unique incident with Ricky related to parking issues in the Ecopark area."Definitely humble, definitely every time we meet anywhere. Coincidentally, the late father of his was also a friend of my father, they even met playing ping pong together. And then there was that funny incident at Ecopark, his house couldn't be accessed," said Eno.

Ricky even proposed a concrete solution regarding the parking issue. His idea was then made into an official system that facilitates access to the area.

"Finally, 'No, how about we make the Jaki app, to keep things organized, people, these people are parking in front of my house, I can't get in.' In the end, it was created in Jaki, so everyone entering Ecopark has to register first, not just anyone. So it was neatly organized. In my opinion, one of his ideas was that, I will talk to the neighborhood association,' said Eno.

One of the musician friends who was also present at the funeral home was Bonny Sidharta from the band BongaBonga. He was one of the last people to meet Ricky when they performed together at the Doomsday Bandung event."The last time we met was when we were at Doomsday Bandung. At that time in the backstage, we talked about an event in Japan. Initially, Seringai, BongaBonga, and Noxa were going," said Bonny.

Unfortunately, the tour plan to Japan with those three bands did not go smoothly. BongaBonga failed to secure a sponsor, and Noxa had to cancel their performance due to health issues."However, in the end, only Seringai performed at Gekiko Fest 2025," said Bonny.

Although their last meeting was quite brief, Bonny admitted to being very impressed with Ricky's character. He described Ricky as an approachable person who always brought positive energy."Well, in terms of his personality, he is one of the most complete. Kind, friendly, and easy to get close to people. It's no wonder so many are mourning and came here. He left many good memories in the minds of many people," Bonny said.

Coki NTRL was also present at the funeral home to bid farewell to Ricky. He admitted that he could not forget the moments of chatting and laughing together."The conversations, the laughter," Coki said briefly but meaningfully.

Meanwhile, Ridho from the group Slank considers Ricky to be a strong musician in character and musicality. According to him, Ricky's character feels real in Seringai's works."For me, his character is in Seringai. And the rave vibes in my old music, I can finally feel Ricky's strength in Seringai with his musicality becoming a character. He makes me see him not as a former journalist, but as a musician," said Ridho.

Dochi Sadega from PeeWee Gaskins also has a personal story about his interactions with Ricky. He highlights Ricky's sense of humor and care for his friends."He asked about cheap hotels in Singapore, then he told a story about his child when they were jumping off a high place. Then we just chatted, he sometimes likes to randomly invite friends to hang out too," reminisced Dochi.

For Dochi, Ricky and the other members of Seringai played an important role in the early journey of PeeWee Gaskins. They were the ones who provided support when PeeWee Gaskins had not yet been fully accepted by the metal community.“What stands out the most is that back then, Ricky and his friends from Seringai were initially seen as newcomers by the metal kids. They were the ones who helped us from the beginning. That’s why it’s sad to lose Ricky,” said Dochi.

Not only fellow male musicians, Ricky's departure also left a deep impression on singer Raisa. She admitted to having a close relationship with Ricky and the band Seringai.“I was once rumored to be the child of Mas Arian (the vocalist of Seringai), I don’t know why that rumor started. Suddenly on Twitter, ‘wow, it turns out I look more like Ricky’s child,’ so I was also rumored to be Ricky’s child,” said Raisa.

Her close relationship with Seringai even makes Raisa feel a special bond with Ricky. She remembers him as someone who brings positive energy every time they meet.“That’s why I call him papa. But I have a very long history with Seringai. We have matching shirts and stuff like that. We always support each other, and he also has, what should I say? A good energy when we meet,” Raisa said.
