Royalty Division Questions Four Virgoun Songs, Legal Counsel Ensures Inara Rusli Still Gets Her Rights

Kapanlagi.com - Arjana Bagaskara, the legal counsel of Inara Rusli, ensures that his client will still receive royalties from four songs created by her ex-husband, Virgoun. This issue arose when Inara sued Virgoun in December 2023 at the Central Jakarta District Court.

This is due to allegations of royalty transfer carried out by Virgoun. The four songs whose royalties were transferred from DRM to DRP are 'Bukti', 'Surat Cinta untuk Starla', 'Saat Kau Telah Mengerti', and 'Orang yang Sama'.

"Basically, there is income divided from the other party to Ms. Inara. However, regarding the concrete value and the form of payment, as well as the payment process, we cannot disclose it due to confidentiality in the agreement," said Arjana Bagaskara when met at the Central Jakarta District Court on Wednesday (27/3).

1. Both Have Rights

However, when asked further, Arjana refused to disclose the exact amount of royalties that Inara would receive. However, based on the divorce decree of Virgoun and Inara in the West Jakarta Religious Court in November 2023, the panel of judges confirmed that royalties are considered joint property and Virgoun must give a share of 50 percent to Inara and their children.

"We feel that with this amount, it becomes clear because it is stated in the Religious Court's decision," he said.

"Only 50 percent can be divided, but with this amount, it becomes clear for Mother Inara," he added.

2. Peace Agreement

It is known that this peace agreement was obtained from a mediation session attended by Inara and Virgoun on Friday (22/3/). Then, on Wednesday (27/3), the ratification hearing of the peace agreement should have been held.

However, the hearing was delayed because the panel of judges did not show up until four hours later, citing that there was a FGD (Focus Group Discussion) and a hearing in another room.
