Ruben Onsu Officially Files for Child Custody, First Hearing on July 15

Presenter Ruben Onsu has officially filed a child custody lawsuit against his ex-wife, Sarwendah, at the South Jakarta District Court. The lawsuit was registered through his legal representative on Tuesday (30/6/2026).

This decision was made by Ruben after performing Umrah. He believes that there needs to be legal certainty because the agreement previously reached amicably did not go as expected.

The lawsuit has been registered with the clerk of the South Jakarta District Court. The first hearing is scheduled to take place on July 15, 2026.

"That's why yesterday, on June 30, 2026, we registered the child custody lawsuit through the clerk's office of the South Jakarta District Court and it has been assigned the registration number 756. The first hearing will be held on July 15, 2026," said Minola Sebayang in a virtual interview on Wednesday (1/7/2026).

Minola explained that the decision to file the lawsuit was communicated directly by Ruben via telephone on the morning of June 30.

"On the morning of June 30, 2026, I was called by Ruben and he said that the lawsuit could be registered or executed," Minola explained.

According to him, the approval was only given by Ruben a day before his return from the Holy Land.

"Maybe, yes maybe. Because the approval was not given when he was still in the country, but the approval was only given on June 30th, one day before Ruben's return from the Holy Land after performing Umrah," he said.

Ruben's party hopes that the mediation process in court will eventually produce the best solution for both parties.

"Well, even if the trial is on July 15, the first trial will be held, there will definitely be mediation. It would be better if that mediation is also facilitated by the court, you know," he concluded.
