Ruben Onsu's Custody Lawsuit Makes Meeting with Sarwendah Cancelled

Kapanlagi.com - The legal process regarding the child custody lawsuit filed by Ruben Onsu against Sarwendah has impacted the communication between both parties. One of the consequences is the cancellation of the meeting that was previously scheduled to take place on July 11, 2026.

Sarwendah's attorney, Chris Sam Siwu, explained that after the lawsuit was registered at the South Jakarta District Court, discussions regarding child custody will follow the procedures applicable in court. Therefore, the mediation process in the trial will be the path both parties will take.

"Until now, our client has not received any official letter from the court regarding the custody lawsuit filed by RO. However, if that is indeed the case, we respect it and believe it is very appropriate for the resolution of the issue to be conducted through a credible institution, avoiding public opinion manipulation by exchanging verses in the media," said Chris Sam Siwu when met at the South Jakarta District Court on Thursday (2/7/2026).

1. Mediation Process Becomes the Next Stage

Chris said that the meeting originally scheduled is likely no longer necessary because the court will first facilitate mediation in the initial hearing.

According to him, all communications related to the child custody case will follow the stages determined in the trial process. "Regarding the planned meeting, with the lawsuit, it is likely that the meeting cannot be held because there will be a mediation agenda from the court in the initial trial process. So we will just follow that flow," he explained.

He also confirmed that the agenda originally scheduled for July 11 will not take place. "So the meeting on the 11th is likely not going to be held because of this lawsuit," Chris emphasized.

2. Sarwendah's Side Ready to Face the Trial

On the other hand, Chris emphasized that his team has prepared legal steps to face the lawsuit filed by Ruben Onsu. A number of evidence, witnesses, and legal arguments will be presented in court.

He also revealed that there are several things that have never been communicated to the public and will be part of the evidence process in court. "Some very important things will be presented later in court. These important matters have not been previously communicated to the media. Therefore, we are very ready to face this lawsuit," he said.

In closing his statement, Chris hopes that the entire court proceedings can run smoothly. He also stated that his side fully entrusts the assessment of the case to the panel of judges based on the facts revealed in the trial.

"Hopefully this process can run smoothly and we fully believe that Your Honor the Judge can provide the best verdict based on the facts in court," he concluded.
