Sandra Dewi Does Not Know the Origin of the Funds Used to Purchase the Luxury Car Bought by Her Husband

Kapanlagi.com - Actress Sandra Dewi appeared again as a witness in the trial concerning corruption allegations related to the tin commodity trading involving her husband, Harvey Moeis. The trial took place at the Corruption Court (Tipikor), Central Jakarta, on Monday, October 21, 2024.

Before providing her testimony, she first took an oath. During this opportunity, Sandra was given the space to present a reverse proof regarding assets that are suspected to originate from corruption proceeds.

At the beginning of the trial, the judge immediately inquired about the ownership of two luxury cars that were seized by the Attorney General's Office, namely a Mini Cooper and a Rolls Royce. Sandra firmly confirmed that the Mini Cooper indeed belongs to her family.

"That’s correct, Your Honor, the Mini Cooper is ours," said Sandra Dewi.

1. Do Not Know the Origin of Harvey's Money

However, when the judge delved into the source of the money used to buy the car, Sandra admitted she did not know the origin of the funds for her purchase. "Where did the money come from?" the judge asked.

"I don’t know about the car purchase, I never got involved, Your Honor, so I don’t know," Sandra replied.

A similar statement was made when the judge asked about the Rolls Royce. Sandra mentioned that the car was given by her husband for them to use together, but she did not know how her husband obtained the money to buy it.

2. Bags from Endorsements

In addition to the car, the judge also mentioned ownership of other assets such as a townhouse in Jakarta and 88 luxury bags that were also seized by the prosecutor. Sandra explained that the townhouse was purchased jointly with Harvey, with her paying a down payment of Rp7 billion, while the remaining payment was made by her husband.

Regarding the dozens of branded bags she owned, Sandra emphasized that all of the bags were obtained through endorsements from various well-known brands. "None were purchased, I just have to check again for the store, Your Honor. I am the endorser," she said.
