Sarwendah's Side Hopes for a Peaceful Child Custody Lawsuit Resolution

The first hearing of the child custody lawsuit between Ruben Onsu and Sarwendah has been held at the South Jakarta District Court on Wednesday (15/7/2026). After the first hearing, the case will proceed to the mediation stage.

Sarwendah's attorney, Chris Sam Siwu, stated that the agenda for the first hearing only included the examination of the identities of the parties and the appointment of the mediator judge. Subsequently, both parties will undergo mediation according to the schedule set by the court.

"Today is the first hearing, yes. The judge also confirmed the presence of our client, Mrs. Sarwendah, as good faith… the first agenda was to present all identities of the plaintiff and the defendant, then appoint the mediator judge," said Chris Sam Siwu when met at the South Jakarta District Court on Wednesday (15/7/2026).

Chris hopes that the mediation process can result in a peaceful resolution. According to him, the interests of the children must be the top priority in this matter. "Please pray that there can be peace. Because wherever we are, what we protect is the interests of the children, yes. Nothing is perfect," he said.

He also asked all parties to respect the ongoing legal process. Chris believes there is no need to exchange opinions through the media anymore because all evidence will be presented in court.

"Therefore, there is no need for us to exchange verses in the media to state who is right, as there is already a domain for that, namely the South Jakarta District Court. So let us respect that, and we will restrain ourselves from passing judgment on social media," he said.

Chris also urged the public not to sway public opinion during the ongoing case. According to him, the legal process must proceed without pressure from various information that may not necessarily align with the facts.

"Just let this process run smoothly. The point is that this is not for anyone's interest, not for our client, not for Bang Minola's client, but for the children," he concluded.
