The music world of the homeland is mourning the passing of senior singer Irianti Erningpraja. She passed away today, Tuesday, May 27, 2025.
This information was first shared by music observer Stanley Tulung through a post on his personal Instagram account.
"Has peacefully passed away at RSUD Pasar Rebo at 14:14 WIB on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, our beloved friend -..Neng Irianti Erningpraja Accompanied by her beloved husband Mas Piko and children Irsa and Gani, along with dear friends, Mima, Harry Kiss, Daisy Sahertian...," so reads the post.
In his post, Stanley mentioned that this sad news was conveyed by Irma Hutabarat. Meanwhile, further information regarding the location of the wake and burial will be announced later.
Stanley closed his message with a heartfelt sentence:
"Thank you for your kindness, Teh Anti, all this time..."
Several figures and fellow artists from the homeland also expressed their condolences in the comments section. One of them came from Ruth Sahanaya who wrote, "Rest in Peace Anti."
Quoting Wikipedia, Irianti Erningpraja is the daughter of Raden Ahem Erningpraja, who once served as Minister of Labor (now the Ministry of Manpower) during the presidency of Sukarno.
In her childhood, Irianti was known as a swimming athlete. However, due to suffering from sinusitis, she was forced to stop her sports career and later joined the famous dance group Swara Maharddhika led by Goeroeh Soekarno Putra.
Her name became widely known in the music industry in the 1990s, especially through popular songs such as "Ada Kamu" and "Kasih."
In 2011, Irianti was still actively creating in the music world by releasing a song titled "Fireflies." This song was born from her experience while visiting Bali.
According to Kapanlagi.com, Irianti explained that the idea for the song came when she was in Ubud.
"The inspiration came from Ubud, Bali. I saw a flickering light in the rice fields. It turned out to be fireflies, but why are they so rare now?" Irianti said at that time.
She hopes that the song can serve as a reminder for many people about the existence of fireflies, which are becoming increasingly rare.
"Hopefully, with this song, people will become aware of the diminishing presence of these creatures. So that one day, we can dance together with the fireflies," she added.
