Syahravi Returns to Report Fariz RM for Allegations of Defamation

Syahravi Dewanda has finally taken decisive legal action after his name was publicly mentioned in a case of alleged copyright infringement. The young singer, who started his career as a child actor, feels that his reputation has been tarnished by the statements of a senior musician with the initials FRM.

Syahravi, accompanied by renowned attorney Elsa Syarief, held a press conference to clarify the facts circulating in the community. Syahravi's side believes that the allegations regarding the unauthorized use of the song have severely harmed the reputation he has built over the past dozen years.

"I would like to thank our partners, the journalists, for being here, where we want to convey something to clarify the incorrect facts, yes," said Elsa Syarief when met in the Menteng area, Central Jakarta, on Monday (29/6/2026).

This issue arose after Fariz RM reported Syahravi for allegedly producing and distributing a song titled Di Antara Kata without official permission. The complainant claims that Syahravi violated ethics by not legally obtaining the mechanical rights.

Syahravi emphasized that he is working under a valid contract with an executive producer with the initials SN, who initiated the tribute album. He believes that all licensing matters for the song were settled by the label before the recording process began.

"So everything I do in this project is under a work contract, and everything I do, including when I perform the song, is included in my work contract with Mr. SN, you know," said Syahravi Dewanda.

The legal representative also presented evidence in the form of a video showing Fariz RM's reaction, which appeared very happy upon hearing the arrangement of the song. This evidence is considered a form of moral approval that contrasts with the police report recently filed by FRM.

"Our client is very opposed because the act is not true and has gone through legal processes, where RM has already filed a report with the Polda and we have revealed that the report against our client is misdirected," said Elsa Syarief.

The man, now 29 years old, officially reported Fariz RM back to the Polda Metro Jaya at the end of June 2026. He hopes this legal action can clear his name from accusations of being a musician lacking professional ethics.
