Because of his dislike for it, Hotman prefers to always carry large amounts of cash wherever he goes. He admits that he often forgets his credit card PIN.

"I'm not tech-savvy, I don't like using credit cards. I prefer to pay for things, like meals, with cash; oh, I'm too lazy for that. I can't remember my PIN number, I just can't remember," he said when met in the area of Jalan Kapten Tendean, Mampang, South Jakarta, on Monday (10/11/2025).

To address this issue, Hotman always relies on his secretary or personal assistant to make payments."So it’s always my secretary or assistant who pays, 'Can you pay for this?' I say. Later, they reimburse it to the office," he explained.

As a solution, Hotman has his own 'system' for keeping cash in his pocket. He even prefers to carry foreign currency like Singapore Dollars because it's more convenient for large amounts.

"When it comes to money, I go to court every day. There must be 100 thousand here, some change here, and dollars in the back," he said.

"But if you do it this way, you can carry a lot, you know. It's more compact. So if you need rupiah, you just exchange it. If you carry rupiah here, even 2 million won’t fit," Hotman continued while showing several sheets of Singapore dollars from his wallet.

He recalled an incident when his wallet was lost and people didn't believe that it contained Rp 70 million. "Just 6 sheets of Sing dollars alone are already more than 60 million, which is 1000 dollars. And that’s always the case," he said.
