The Family's Tears Accompany Diding Boneng's Funeral in Menteng Pulo

The body of legendary actor Diding Boneng was buried at TPU Menteng Pulo, South Jakarta, on Monday (3/8/2026). The ceremony was solemn, with a mourning atmosphere enveloping the family, relatives, and friends.

During the final farewell, the family also told about Boneng's health journey before he passed away. His brother, Zainal Arifin, mentioned that the initial symptoms were thought to be stomach problems.

"At first, he only had stomach issues. When he saw a doctor, it turned out the doctor said he had a stroke. Eventually, he was advised to be hospitalized," said Zainal Arifin when met in the Matraman Dalam area, Central Jakarta, Monday (3/8/2026).

The ambulance carrying the body arrived at the burial site around 4:15 PM WIB. The family and friends accompanied the coffin to the grave.

The atmosphere at the location was calm under the evening sky. After the burial ceremony, Diding Boneng's children and grandchildren took turns scattering flowers on the grave as a final tribute.

Sobs broke out when one of Diding Boneng's daughters could not hold back her tears. She continued to cry after scattering flowers on her father's grave.

During treatment at Tarakan Hospital, the deceased was placed in the stroke unit. From the examination results, the doctor stated there was no stomach ulcer, but rather several other health issues.

"They said it was an ulcer. But after the doctor examined it, there was no ulcer, only asthma and hypertension, stroke. That’s why when he was at Tarakan, he was placed in the stroke unit, because it was indeed a stroke," he said.

The medical team's examination concluded that there was asthma, hypertension, and stroke accompanying Boneng's condition. Placement in the stroke unit was done in accordance with these findings.

3. From Care to Taking His Last Breath

After being treated for about ten days, Diding Boneng's condition improved and he was allowed to go home. However, on Sunday night, his health deteriorated again due to a serious respiratory issue.

Diding Boneng took his last breath at his residence in the Matraman Dalam area on Monday morning around 06:04 WIB. The departure of the actor known for various iconic characters was announced by the family during the mourning process.

On the afternoon of the same day, the body was buried at TPU Menteng Pulo. Family, relatives, and friends accompanied him to his final resting place.
