The Last Moments of Diding Boneng During His Life, House Collapsed to the Ground

In 2025, KapanLagi.com had the opportunity to visit the late Diding Boneng's house in the Matraman Dalam area of Central Jakarta. His house suffered total damage due to collapse. 

Diding openly admitted that this unfortunate incident was a result of his attitude of neglecting the physical condition of the house. He realized that the wooden structure and roof of his house had actually been decaying for a long time.

to carry out a massive renovation. Although he was already aware that there were several fragile parts, he kept postponing the repairs until this disaster occurred right in front of his family. Sadness was clearly visible as he surveyed the remnants of the ruins.

"As for me, this house has indeed been decayed for a long time and has never been upgraded. Well, maybe this is the final point of its decay. I am the one at fault. Why was I so relaxed? Honestly, I admit I was wrong," said Diding Boneng, Tuesday (30/12/2025).

The incident is estimated to have occurred around nine in the evening, when most residents were resting. Diding clarified that the weather at that time was no longer experiencing heavy rain, although there had been significant rain during Maghrib. He suspected that the remaining rainwater that had seeped in worsened the burden on the already old building.

"What I know is rain. But at that time the rain had already stopped. The rain was during Maghrib, this is around 9 PM. So there was no more rain. It did rain earlier in the afternoon. You know, there was wind too," explained Diding Boneng.

Upon arriving home, Diding was shocked to find his siblings in a hysterical and crying state. They were very surprised to see their home destroyed in just a matter of minutes. Diding, who had just returned from outside, could only try to calm his family members who were still traumatized.

"So when I got home, it had been about 20 minutes since the incident. So I don't know exactly what happened. My siblings were already crying when I arrived. Then I asked why? 'What happened to this?' Why are you asking? I don't know, I said that," he explained.
