Kapanlagi.com - Not only returning as a singer, Tissa Biani also showcases her hidden talent as a songwriter in her latest EP titled 'Are We?'. Her ability to weave words has actually been honed since she was a child, long before she became known as an actress.
Tissa expresses her love for the writing world. She admits that her habit of keeping a diary became the foundation for her ability to create lyrics.
"Coincidentally, I have really loved writing since I was little. I really enjoy writing diaries, I love writing quotes, and I am a lover of poetic words back in those days," said Tissa Biani when met in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Wednesday (20/8/2025).

With that background, Tissa did not waste the opportunity when asked to get directly involved in the creation of her songs. She maximized her writing potential with the help of several more experienced musician friends.
"Well, suddenly I was given the chance to make a song, so I maximized my potential there, my writing potential. Thank God I was accompanied by Kak Evan and Kak Elo, one of my songwriting partners who helped me write some of the songs on the EP," she explained.

Interestingly, the inspiration for her song lyrics does not solely come from personal experiences. Tissa and her team actually concoct themes from phenomena that often occur among young people of her age or Gen Z.
"Then we create a theme, 'What is happening frequently in the Gen Z world right now?' For example, wanting certainty, being in a relationship, couples who are always fighting, and being sure about their partner. Those are the themes that often occur," she said.

The creative process is quite fast once the main theme is found. After getting the big idea, Tissa and her team can finish one song in a short amount of time.
"Let's make a song, we already got the theme for sure, write the lyrics, done. It takes an hour to make," she said.

Besides from observations around her, Tissa also admits to often getting inspiration from her friends' stories. She often becomes a loyal listener to the hearts of those closest to her.
"Coincidentally, I often get confided in by my friends. I often become a listener, not the one who shares, and from there I take some themes that many people experience, and eventually, it comes out," she revealed.

Even so, there is one song that he specifically created for his beloved partner, Dul Jaelani. That song is the only work directly inspired by his love story.
"The songs 'Aku Tanya Bercanda' and 'Kata Lagi-Lagi Itu' were indeed created for my partner," said Tissa Biani.

Tissa Biani shared her musical journey, which actually started several years ago. She explained how she initially released songs before eventually taking a break to focus on her acting career.
"Okay, so the first time I released a song was actually in 2019. At that time, I released it together with the band Element Reunion under the label of Raffi Ahmad, Rans Entertainment, eh Rans Music. From there, I took a break from the music world for a while," Tissa Biani revealed when met in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (20/8/2025).

During that hiatus, Tissa admitted that her singing activities were limited to social media content or small collaborations. She emphasized that for the past five years, her main priority has indeed been in the film industry that has made her name.
"Well, if I sing, it's just covers on social media or if there's a need for support, collabs, anything like that, I join. Because honestly, in the last 5 years, I've really been focusing on films, starting from the shoots, everything. I prefer to prioritize my job in the film industry," she said.
