Vanessa Angel Sentenced to 6 Months in Prison in Continued Trial

Kapanlagi.com - Defendant of drug abuse Vanessa Angel is sentenced to 6 months in prison and a fine of Rp 10 million or three months of imprisonment by the Public Prosecutor (JPU). JPU considers Vanessa guilty of misusing the class IV psychotropic drug.

"The aggravating consideration is that the defendant does not support the government's program in eradicating drugs, and the mitigating consideration is that Vanessa is a mother who has a child and her child currently needs a mother's attention," said the Prosecutor in the sentencing hearing on Thursday (15/10).

1. Vanessa Will Submit a Defense

Regarding the charges, Vanessa Angel does not accept them and plans to read her own defense at the next hearing, which will be held on Monday, October 26th.

As known, the police arrested Vanessa at her residence located in Permata Mediterania, Kembangan, West Jakarta, on March 16th. They managed to confiscate 20 xanax pills, where 15 pills were found in the dressing table drawer and the remaining 5 pills were in a bag in the car.

2. Bibi Ardiansyah's Hope

Previously, Bibi Ardiansyah, Vanessa Angel's husband, hopes that the panel of judges will consider his wife's current condition as she has a baby. Bibi also described how Vanessa always tries to appear happy in the midst of suffering for the sake of their child.

"Fair and civilized humanity, the judge(s) should consider Vanessa, who now has a child, and think about who the child will be with (if the mother goes to prison). Since then, she (Vanessa) has to keep trying to be happy because she is pregnant, so that our child won't be disabled and won't be stressed. Now she has a court hearing every week and has to pretend to be happy for the sake of her breastfeeding and I also have to pretend to be happy for my wife and child," Bibi Ardiansyah hopes.
