Danil Sumenep Achieves 3 Standing Ovations at Dangdut Academy 8, Sings 'Bulan Bintang'

Kapanlagi.com - The Dangdut Academy 8 stage on Monday (21/7/2026) became an important moment for Danil, a participant from Sumenep, Madura. Performing the song Bulan Bintang, he garnered three standing ovations from the panel of judges: Soimah, Dewi Perssik, and Lesti Kejora.

Not only was he appreciated for his vocal performance, but Danil was also noted for a significant increase in maturity in his emotional expression and articulation. Dewi Perssik was among the most vocal in giving praise, especially as Danil was seen to have applied the feedback she had previously given.

"Masyaallah dear. Danil listened to mother talking earlier, yes, he has started to open his mouth, that’s what mother wants, dear, so the articulation is clearer. What you sang for me was extraordinary, perfect," said Dewi Perssik.

The three standing ovations received by Danil came alongside the judges' assessments highlighting his overall improvement. In addition to vocal strength, the expression of the lyrics and the pronunciation of words were noted to be more refined and accurate.

According to Dewi Perssik, Danil appeared consistent in improving his articulation, in line with the suggestions she had given during previous performances. This change made every word sung sound clearer.

Lesti Kejora praised the emotional dimension in Danil's performance. "Danil, you really sing with sincerity, truly from the heart. This song tells a story of longing, and you really convey that feeling of longing," said Lesti.

On the other hand, Lesti assessed that Danil mastered the song material well. She mentioned that Danil's singing flow felt natural without seeming forced, reinforcing the message of the song with the theme of longing.

2. Soimah's Notes: Enjoyed Word by Word

Soimah appreciates Danil's progress from time to time. She emphasizes that Danil can now enjoy every lyric, without excessively playing with the vocal embellishments, making the composition feel proportional.

"Word by word is enjoyed, not too many curly embellishments. Everything is in proportion, each note sounds good, and the improvisation is just enough. This is what I want," said Soimah.

Soimah also reminds Danil to continue absorbing feedback, including criticism directed at other participants. This learning principle, according to her, is important for Danil to maintain performance consistency in the upcoming rounds.

3. Duet with Valen and Moments of Laughter on Stage

After performing solo, Danil accepted the challenge to duet with his senior, Valen. Their performance received appreciation from the judges and host, complementing the positive notes of Danil's appearance that night.

Lesti emphasized that each has its own strengths. "They should not be compared because both are good. Both are beloved and a pride for the people of Madura," Lesti stated.

In the midst of the comments, Dewi Perssik teased Danil about his strong emotional delivery of the longing-themed song. When asked if he had ever felt longing for a partner, Danil admitted he had. "No wonder you delivered it just right," said Dewi Perssik.

Closing the comment session, Soimah reiterated her message for Danil to keep learning. She hopes that the participant from Sumenep can maintain the quality of his performances in the next steps of Dangdut Academy 8.
