Sakhi Dangdut Academy 8 Received 1 Standing Ovation from Wika Salim, Here are the Judges' Notes

The performance of Sakhi on the Dangdut Academy 8 stage while singing Bintang Pentas on Friday (18/7/2026) successfully brought a different energy. The fast-tempo song demands vocal ability as well as choreography that is not easy. Nevertheless, Sakhi still tried to deliver a maximum performance and received a standing ovation from Wika Salim.

Wika was the only judge who stood up after Sakhi's performance. According to her, the effort shown by the contestant deserved appreciation even though there are still several things that need to be improved.

"I want to praise Sakhi first because this song is indeed the song that should shine. Just from the title, it has to be a star. I really see Sakhi's effort to keep up with this song. The choreography also tried to be completed earlier," said Wika Salim.

Although giving a standing ovation, Wika emphasized that the appreciation does not mean Sakhi's performance was without flaws. She noted that Sakhi appeared to lack confidence during the improvisation part, which made the climax of the song feel less impactful.

"The feedback needs to be more controlled. At the endings, the breath was starting to falter. You need to balance between choreography and your voice because the vocals are still the number one priority, especially since this is a competition," she advised.

Lesti praised Sakhi's articulation, noting it was very clear. She mentioned that the pronunciation of the vowels A, I, U, E, O sounded neat, making it one of the participant's strengths. However, Rizky Billar's wife hopes that Sakhi can improve on dynamics, phrasing, and emotional expression in the song so that the message intended comes across more strongly.

"One of the things you really need to improve is the dynamics, the way you deliver the song, the placement of the high notes, and your performance needs to be more confident," said Lesti.

Similar feedback also came from Soimah. She compared Sakhi's solo performance with his previous act when singing in a trio format. According to her, Sakhi's confidence actually seemed to decrease when he had to perform alone on stage.

"You have to learn quickly, or you might go home," said Soimah while reminding that Sakhi's low notes are still a homework that needs to be improved.
