Petty Tunjungsari Reveals Inul Daratista's Role in the Last Days of Titiek Puspa

The departure of Titiek Puspa leaves a deep sorrow, not only for the family but also for close friends including dangdut singer Inul Daratista. Inul turned out to play an important role in the final days of the life of the artistic maestro.

Titiek Puspa's daughter, Petty Tunjungsari, revealed that Inul was one of the closest people who faithfully accompanied her mother in her last moments. In fact, Inul's involvement in the seven-day tahlilan for Titiek Puspa was described as a form of her sincere love.

"Yes, she was actually the most prominent, the most enthusiastic, the one who took the initiative first, the one who took action first. That is indeed how much love she has for her grandmother," said Petty after the seven-day tahlilan event at the PTIK Building, South Jakarta.

Petty stated that since Titiek Puspa fell ill, the family gave Inul as much space as possible to accompany the legend.

"The fact is that when my grandmother was sick, we gave her freedom, because we must empathize, my mother loved someone, she was happy with someone," he said.

Although there was initially some back and forth regarding that closeness, in the end, the Titiek Puspa family felt grateful because the last days of their mother were filled with happiness.

"Well, indeed in the last days she was accompanied and I believe she was happy with Inul moving forward," he explained.

Petty admitted that mere words of thanks to Inul for her attention all this time were not enough. She felt overwhelmed by the great energy left by her late mother, as if that spirit was now meant to be passed on to her.

"It's really intense (Inul), I may not be enough just to say thank you. I don’t ask for her... but yes, the body of my grandmother can be buried, but her spirit and soul are still burning," he said.

He likens his mother's spirit to a large data capacity that wants to be transferred into him, making him occasionally feel emotionally overwhelmed.

"So if the phone is bad, it's just small, this one is good. Now, it wants to be transferred here, so my confusion sometimes drowns me," he concluded.

According to Petty, Titiek Puspa's spirit has not stopped, and she is ready to continue her mother's struggle as a final form of respect.
