Rangga Dangdut Academy 8 Moves Wika Salim - Selfi Yamma with the Song 'Kehilangan'

After the song ended, Wika Salim revealed the reason for her emotional response. She mentioned that the song triggered memories of a recent loss in her family.

"So I got carried away by the mood, because just last night my sister's husband passed away. When asked for her response by the hosts, Wika Salim shared her close relationship with her late brother-in-law (cousin) who often took her to sing since she was little. Hearing this story, Gilang Dirga expressed his condolences.

Despite still being in mourning, Wika expressed appreciation for how Rangga interpreted the song she performed that night.

"Yes, thank you, but I liked Rangga's performance just now, you didn't do too many fancy things but the message got through to me perfectly," said Wika Salim.

In addition to the emotional response, Rangga's performance also received technical evaluation from the judges. Dewi Perssik assessed that Rangga's presentation was pleasant to listen to, although not perfect, with notes on the improvisation section.

"For this song overall I like it even though it's not perfect, but I like everything, the improvisation you gave could be a bit more refined because I think it’s still a bit off," said Dewi Perssik.

Dewi also reminded Rangga to pay more attention to low notes and articulation while singing to ensure the lyrics are conveyed clearly and steadily.

In agreement, Soimah highlighted the control of notes in the improvisation section, including the tendency to add embellishments at the end of sentences which were deemed unnecessary.

"Overall it's fine but if you want to add more control over the notes, especially in the improvisation part, the middle section was indeed where the note control was not smooth, and sometimes at the end of the sentences that embellishment is not needed, you embellished," said Soimah.

3. Selfi Yamma Could Not Hold Back Her Tears

The atmosphere became increasingly emotional when Rina Nose approached Selfi Yamma, who appeared to be crying. April and Tasya were seen comforting Selfi, while Rina gave her space to collect her emotions before speaking.

"Just cry for now, it's okay to let it out. Selfi is fine, if you don't want to share, that's okay too, you don't have to tell us," Rina Nose expressed.

Rina then conveyed that the song "Kehilangan" has a meaning that resonates with many people in the studio. After trying to calm herself, Selfi expressed the reason she became emotional.

"I'm sorry Ceppy for being so emotional, actually I was triggered by Melly's condition because of my father's condition," Selfi admitted.

After that statement, Selfi cried again and was unable to continue her words. Rina Nose then comforted her again amidst the support from her fellow show hosts.
