The film ANAK MEDAN COCOK KO RASA stars Maell Lee, Ajil Ditto, Ady Sky, Mario Mario Maulana Hazar, Amara Sophie Rhemaesthita, Maria Simorangkir, Lina Marpaung, Putra Siregar, and Stevan Pasaribu. The story follows the journey of four friends - Ucok, Joko, Rafly, and Chisa - who were separated since high school graduation due to a tragedy that struck them. Ucok moved to Jakarta to become a singer, Joko pursued a football career, and Chisa continued the family business, while Rafly went missing without a trace. Four years later, they are reunited in Medan at a reunion that marks the beginning of new challenges, where their friendship is tested by various life trials.

We chose Medan as the setting because this city has a strong character, full of social and economic dynamics that reflect the struggles of young people, especially for those who migrate. Medan is a city rich in diversity and culture, a place that mirrors the lives of many young Indonesians who strive to chase their dreams while not forgetting their roots," explained Agustinus.

He also added that this film is packaged with a fresh touch of dramedy, because for him, in facing the harshness of life, there are times when we need to laugh at reality. "Through the laughter and stories of the characters, we want to invite the audience to see that life, no matter how heavy it is, is still worth enjoying and laughing about together," concluded Agustinus.

The production process of ANAK MEDAN COCOK KO RASA was filled with challenges as well as precious moments, considering the many elements that were taken into account to create an authentic and touching impression. Director Ivan Bandhito stated that the shooting experience in Medan added a unique flavor to this film. "Shooting in Medan provides a very distinctive and authentic atmosphere for this film. Maell Lee, who plays Ucok, feels very connected to the character he portrays. As a fellow migrant from Medan, he admits to experiencing many similarities with Ucok's journey. "Ucok's character indeed has similarities with me, especially regarding dreams and struggles as a migrant. Just like Ucok who migrates to Jakarta to pursue his dreams, I also feel the heaviness of being far from family for the sake of life goals. It gives me many opportunities to express Ucok's feelings filled with challenges and hopes," revealed Maell Lee.

Meanwhile, Ajil Ditto, who plays Rafly, also shared his story about his closeness to Medan. "Shooting in Medan feels like going back home for me. I was born and raised here, so the atmosphere is very familiar to me. Being able to come back here and work in a place I know is very enjoyable," explained Ajil.

Ajil also revealed that the chemistry among the cast formed very naturally from the beginning of the shooting process. "We all have traits and characters that complement each other, so it didn't take long for us to feel close to one another. This fluid atmosphere makes every scene feel more alive, and we can build emotions with each other naturally," said Ajil. According to him, this camaraderie is not only felt in front of the camera but also off set, thus strengthening the dynamics of the story that the film wants to convey.
