For the film 'BEN & JODY', Angga Dwimas Sasongko even built a village for shooting purposes

Kapanlagi.com - Director Angga Dwimas Sasongko is grateful that the filming process of Ben & Jody is finally completed and ready to be screened in Indonesian cinemas on January 27, 2022.

For Angga, it wasn't easy to shoot during the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia. Therefore, he searched for a location in a forest in Sukabumi, West Java.

1. Building a Village

When finding a suitable location, Angga immediately built a village to ensure that the filming process does not involve many people, considering the situation of the Covid-19 pandemic.

"We made (this film) in Sukabumi in the middle of the forest, creating a truly empty village. We made Rinjani's house (played by Hana Malassn) taller because she is the chief's daughter," said Angga Dwimas Sasongko during the press conference for the film Ben & Jody at Plaza Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (18/1).

2. Implementing Health Protocols

During the filming process, Angga also implemented strict health protocols, and the cast and crew were isolated at the location. He also briefly described the village he created for his latest film set.

"So the houses are close together and there is a town square in the middle. And we built the village," said Angga Dwimas Sasongko.

3. Build Headquarters

In addition to the village, Angga also built a headquarters occupied by Yayan Ruhian and his gang.

"For the camp (we made) until we opened the way for Aa Tubir (Yayan Ruhian's role). We specifically looked for a place and even made a road," explained Angga Dwimas Sasongko.

4. Shooting in the Forest

Angga is grateful, his hard work has paid off with the completion of the film. He hopes that his latest film will find a place in the hearts of the people and that the message in the film can be conveyed well.

"Living with 350 people in the middle of the forest, in the midst of a pandemic too. Shooting for 1.5 months, then in the forest for 1 month. Quite tiring, but also exciting in the cold,” concluded Angga.
