INDONESIAN FILM FROM THE EAST, Based on the True Story of Papua Soccer

Kapanlagi.com - Alenia Pictures production house collaborates with Bhinneka Multi Media to make a film based on a true story from the land of Papua titled INDONESIA FROM THE EAST.

Starting from the desire to convey the spirit of unity, a film story was chosen based on the story of the Papua boys' and girls' soccer team when they became champions in the National Sports Week (PON) XX 2021.

"We know that soccer is a sport that is very popular not only in Papua but also worldwide. Soccer unites the nation. We want to give the spirit of unity. Give the best spirit for Indonesia," said Nia Sihasale during a press conference at Epicentrum, Kuningan, Jakarta, Saturday (9/12/023).

This film is directed by Ari Sihasale. He also stars alongside Ibnu Jamil, Donny Alamsyah, Marcelino Lefrant, and Dinda Ghania.

Not only the aforementioned actors, but also some young football stars from Papua are also involved in the film INDONESIA DARI TIMUR. Among them are Yesaya Kogoya, Richardo Youwe, Yulianus Yual, Karel Fonataba, and Michael Twenty.

"Indonesia Dari Timur presents a work that can be enjoyed by both National Film and domestic football lovers of all ages. Wrapped in the beauty of Indonesia's natural scenery in the province of Papua," said Helmalia Putri, the executive producer.

"This film also showcases the warmth of a family, togetherness, and loyalty. We believe that this film can ignite the spirit of the young generation of Indonesia," she added.
