Full name Christian Yu or Yu Barom, he is actually of Korean-Australian mixed heritage. He was born on September 6, 1990 in Sydney, Australia. Since childhood, he was raised by his mother after his parents separated. 

He attended Wollongong High School of the Performing Arts and spent his high school years playing in a heavy metal band, as well as participating in musicals and circuses that he attended as a child. In 2008, when he was 18 years old, he started uploading videos to his YouTube channel, under the name 'B Boy B.yu'. After graduating from high school, he continued his education at Sydney University, majoring in science and arts. 

However, after one year of college, he decided to move to South Korea to pursue his dream of becoming a K-pop idol. 

2. Career Journey

After undergoing numerous training to become a K-pop idol, he finally debuted with his groupmates named 'C-Clown' under Yedang Entertainment agency in 2012. His stage name is 'Rome', with positions as the leader, main rapper, and main dancer.

During his 3-year career as a member of C-Clown, they released 4 albums. Unfortunately, their album sales were relatively low compared to other groups. In 2015, C-Clown disbanded, and at the same time, Christian along with Live, Cream, and REM established the label Dream Perfect Regime, which is now known as DPR. In 2021, he released his debut mini album titled MOODSWINGS IN THIS ORDER.

His creativity never ceases, brilliant ideas flow rapidly into the creation of his songs. He has done various collaborations and also served as a director and music video editor for artists such as Mino, Taeyang, and Bobby.

In 2021, DPR Ian and Live released the song DIAMONDS + AND PEARLS as part of the soundtrack for the Marvel film SHANG-CHI AND THE LEGEND OF THE TEN RINGS. They became the first two Korean artists to participate in a Marvel soundtrack album. Many are still confused, so is Christian Yu actually a Korean or Australian artist?
