Reasons Kim Go Eun Returns to Star in 'THE KING: ETERNAL MONARCH' Drama by 'GOBLIN' Writer

So what made Kim Go Eun accept the offer from Kim Eun Sook again and have this parallel world story as her comeback drama?

Kim Go Eun admitted that she is intrigued by stories involving parallel worlds. This is because there will be many dual characters that appear in her new drama.

"Firstly, because the story involves parallel worlds. That's why there will be many interesting dual characters (two roles) involved in these two worlds.

2. Interesting Scenario

Kim Eun Sook herself is known as a genius writer through her works such as SECRET GARDEN, A GENTLEMAN'S DIGNITY, THE HEIRS, DESCENDANTS OF THE SUN, GOBLIN, and many others. Once again, the script created by the writer really piqued Kim Go Eun's curiosity.

"When I read the script myself, sometimes I get confused about how this person would be in another world. This is what makes me interested and surely will bring a lot of enjoyment to the audience when they watch it," she explained.

THE KING: ETERNAL MONARCH itself premiered on Friday, April 17, 2020.
