21 Years of Yovie & Nuno's Creations, Delivering Songs That Soothe the Soul

This band, whose works and performances are always eagerly awaited by the public, has produced many hit songs since 2001. Although they have undergone several personnel changes, including the departure of Yovie Widianto as the keyboardist in 2019, Yovie & Nuno as a band can still continue to create and maintain their existence in the Indonesian music scene.

“In my opinion, when Yovie & Nuno first came out, their concept was really fresh, with Mas Yovie's signature chord progressions, but with the addition of electric guitar and distortion. What I remember when I first heard Yovie & Nuno was the drum intro from Indah, Kuingat Dirimu. Wow, super catchy groove. I hope that at 21 years old, Yovie & Nuno can continue to inspire and innovate,” said Dipha Barus, a musician and songwriter.

Another musician, Franki Indrasmoro or better known as Pepeng Naif, also gave his response.

“In my opinion, Yovie Widianto is a skilled producer and has a true A&R instinct. Through Yovie & Nuno, he can create a ‘guyish’ but still romantic touch like Yovie's. My hope is that Yovie & Nuno can continue to add a masculine touch to their music, even if the goal is to make women swoon,” said Pepeng.
