After 15 Years, Gavet Samodro Brings Back the Song 'Let It Pass'

Kapanlagi.com - Released 15 years ago, it turns out that this song is still widely known by music lovers in the country until now. Yes, the song Let It Pass composed by Gavet Samodro and popularized by Hello first aired in 2008.

During an era when the Indonesian music industry was busy producing many talented musicians with works that are still ingrained in the hearts of the people.

Now, Gavet Samodro, as the keyboardist of Hello and the creator of the song Let It Pass, dares to release the song again. Gavet then collaborates with a young singer from Yogyakarta who is currently popular, namely Kakung Triadmojo alias Atmojo.

Gavet revealed that this collaboration was actually an old idea that had not been realized. Their meeting in 2016 also agreed to release this song with a new and fresher version. At that time, Gavet immediately felt a connection and was confident that Let It Pass was very suitable to be sung again by Atmojo.

"The reason is actually more about personal closeness and chemistry. For me, Atmojo's vocal ability is above average and the song Biarkan Berlalu cannot be sung by just an ordinary singer. As proven, the end result is as expected. Atmojo successfully brings a different color to this song," said Gavet Samodro, starting off.

"From my personal perspective, I really love this song and I don't know why, but since long ago I felt that it would suit me if I ever sang it. I already have the confidence that my musical notation and vocal color can represent this song. As for me, I took the initiative to suggest a recycle and Gavet immediately agreed without any objections," Kakung added.

The production process was also not done by Gavet alone. Gavet and Atmojo agreed to collaborate with Sasi Kirono (music producer Atmojo) at Satrio Piningit Studio to create this new version of Biarkan Berlalu.

2. Assisted by Friends from College

"For the audiovisual creative process, I was assisted by friends from Amikom Yogyakarta college to translate it through a video clip," said Gavet.

The single Let It Pass was released on Friday, July 7, 2023, on digital music platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, etc. Meanwhile, the music video will also air on the same date on the KAYAHATI entertainment YouTube channel, a new digital music platform created by Gavet Samodro.

"After Let It Pass, God willing, we will continue to other projects. We kindly ask for the support of all our friends so that we can keep creating," concluded Gavet.
