Angga Puradiredja Shares His Feelings About Playing in a Band with His Own Younger Brother Alongside Maliq & D’Essentials

Angga Puradiredja, the vocalist of Maliq & D’Essentials, reveals how it feels to make music for 23 years alongside his brother, Widi, who is the drummer of the band. Angga feels happy to be making music with his own brother.

"I feel happy and secure because, well, where else would you go?" said Angga to Kapanlagi.com recently.

Although they don't always discuss things, during important moments, they often have deep conversations.

"The discussions, even though I don't talk too often with Widi, during crucial moments, our discussions are quite deep," he said.

1. Never Free from Parents' Prayers

For Angga, their close relationship all this time is also inseparable from the prayers and hopes of their parents for them to always be harmonious and united.

"We didn't expect it either, we've been together for 23 years, which means we've done something right in that time," he said.

Even though they have been together for decades, Angga emphasizes that he and Widi have never experienced a major fight. This is thanks to the upbringing of their parents who always taught them to be harmonious since childhood.

"There has never been a massive fight. Because since we were kids, our parents always told us, you two must get along. You two have to be united, so you don't depend on others," he explained.

2. There is Always a Middle Ground

That mindset has carried over into their adulthood and careers together.

"So when there is a problem, we try to always think that what we do, or what he does, is the best for both of us," he concluded.
