Because of Going Viral on TikTok, More on Mumbles Re-releases 'Old Song'

Kapanlagi.com - Duo from Yogyakarta, More on Mumbles releases their latest single together with Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia (SMEI) titled Lagu Lama (Old Song). Interestingly, Lagu Lama was previously released in 2019 in an acoustic format.

For More on Mumbles' fans, Lagu Lama is already familiar to their ears. This time, More on Mumbles re-releases it with a slightly different format.

Initially, their live performance video of Lagu Lama became popular on social media, especially TikTok. From there, many fans wanted the song to be re-released. Coincidentally, Lagu Lama itself still fits the story being prepared by More on Mumbles for their album.

1. Rearrangement

"Because it went viral on TikTok, Awan and I immediately talked to the label about whether we could rearrange our song 'Lagu Lama' with a more band-like version. It turns out that Sony also supported this idea," said Lintang, the vocalist of More on Mumbles.

"In terms of the story, this song is still related to what we want to convey in our upcoming first album," she added.

The story of Lagu Lama is quite personal to Lintang. Lagu Lama tells the story of her ex-boyfriend who still flirts with her using words like 'beautiful' and 'you're always attractive' even though they are no longer together. Although she ultimately remains strong and does not go back to him, there are moments of uncertainty that arise every time she hears those sweet words.

2. Quite Different

"Until finally, slowly I found my own way to continue my new life with Awan hahaha," said Lintang.

The production of Lagu Lama is also quite different from their previous singles. Because the production of Lagu Lama was truly done by More on Mumbles in Yogyakarta. Awan and Lintang then invited their music partner in Jogja, Yabes Yuniawan, to work together on Lagu Lama.

3. Feels Different

"We're really happy to be given the power by the label to work on this song in Jogja. It doesn't mean that working with a producer is not enjoyable, but being trusted to make our own music feels different, right?" said Awan, the guitarist.

Lagu Lama becomes More on Mumbles' fourth single with Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia after previously gaining attention by releasing Good For You, Such Is Life, and Berdalih. Lagu Lama is also chosen as the last single before their first album, which will be released very soon.

Lagu Lama can already be listened to on all digital music platforms starting from April 24, 2024.
