Berlliana Lovell Releases Song 'God Definitely Knows', A Touching Love Story Across Different Beliefs

With 3.7 million followers on Instagram, Berlliana released her latest song titled God Definitely Knows. This song tells the story of a love struggle hindered by differences in belief, a theme that many couples experience in real life.

“This song tells the story of a couple with different beliefs. They complement each other, love each other, and are even on the same page, but they have to face the reality that their beliefs are different,” said Ade Govinda, the songwriter, when met in the Rawa Selatan area, Central Jakarta, on Friday (29/11/2024).

1. Has Personal Meaning

Berlliana admits that this song has a very personal meaning for her. “Actually, this is a personal story. I have experienced a situation like this, with different religions, he believes, I don’t. This song is like depicting oil and water that cannot unite, but if the oil is calmed and given a wick, it can illuminate the darkness when lit,” explained Berlliana at the same location.

In the process of creating this song, Berlliana claims she did not experience deep difficulties because the song is very relevant to her experiences. “The depth wasn’t too hard, because I really experienced it. The music is also very nice, so the process went quite smoothly,” she said. However, the recording process took up to six months due to Ade Govinda's busy schedule.

2. Music Video Shooting Location

For the music video, the shooting process took place in Bandung with various challenges. “The roads were really difficult, and it rained at one point too,” Berlliana revealed. She added that the music video was completed in two days. “I even cried a lot during the shoot. It felt very emotional because the lyrics and the situation were really touching,” she added.

The collaboration between Berlliana and Ade Govinda started from a casual sharing session. “Berli shared her story with me, then I tried to make a song that relates to her story. When she liked it, we just went ahead until it was finally released,” Ade revealed.

Berlliana also feels that this song is very special because it represents many couples facing similar situations. “Hopefully, this song can represent those who are struggling even though their relationships are hindered by differences in beliefs. I hope this song can provide strength and the best prayers for them,” she said.

The emotional feeling expressed in this song feels real because Berlliana has been in a similar situation. “I believe many people can relate to this song. Hopefully, this song can be a companion for those facing the same situation,” she said with hope.
