Dede Yusuf Reveals Last Moments and Beautiful Memories with His Beloved Mother Rahayu Effendi

Kapanlagi.com - Dede Yusuf reminisces about the last moments with his mother, senior actress Siti Rahayu Effendi, before she passed away on Thursday (28/11/2024). One of the most memorable moments was when they managed to do a video call a few days before Siti Rahayu passed away.

"So, I did a video call with my child who is in England, and also with myself. I had just returned from IKN last week. We did a video call because my younger sibling who was taking care of her saw her eyes open," said Dede Yusuf at the funeral home in Depok, West Java, on Thursday (28/11/2024).

He recounted that the moment felt very emotional. When his mother opened her eyes, they immediately took the opportunity to chat, even though it was limited.

"Seeing her eyes open, when she opened them during the video call, she smiled. Because there was a ventilator in her mouth, she could say very little. In the end, we just missed each other while video calling," he said.

1. The Family Has Received a Premonition

Dede also expressed the premonition that he and his family have felt in the past week. Rahayu's condition has continued to decline, so they have started preparing for the worst-case scenario.

"Maybe we've seen in the past week that it's indeed been dropping continuously. So we are all aware that it may not be long now, and finally this morning," he said.

Although it is difficult, the family has accepted the departure of their mother with an open heart. When reminiscing about the wishes of their mother that have not yet been fulfilled, Dede mentioned there is one big hope that has not come to fruition.

"I have a younger sibling who is not married yet, so one of the things she may not have seen is my younger sibling's wedding, which may still be there. When she was still conscious, it was often talked about. Hopefully, after this, her soulmate will be found," said Dede.

2. Save Last Message

Regarding the last message from his mother, Dede chose to keep it as a personal memory. "There is one, but I don’t need to reveal it, it’s between family," he said.

For Dede, Siti Rahayu is an extraordinary mother. He also mentioned that his mother's struggles were not only for her family but also for many others.

"My mother has been a single mother for almost 50 years. Raising her children, fighting alone. So she is truly a tenacious mother figure," he said.

"Many of her siblings, some from the village, were raised by my mother. She also has a foundation, an orphanage, and conducts religious studies," he concluded.
