Friends Since Childhood, Senior Actress Yessy Gusman Supports Bang Doel in the 2024 Jakarta Gubernatorial Election

Kapanlagi.com - Senior actress Yessy Gusman openly expressed her support for Rano Karno in the 2024 Jakarta Gubernatorial Election. Rano, who is paired with Pramono Anung, is running for Governor and Deputy Governor of Jakarta. According to Yessy, her choice is based on their friendship and professional closeness that has developed since childhood.

"I choose Rano because we have been friends and working together since we were kids. I know exactly what he is like," said Yessy when met at polling station 016 in the Kalibata area of South Jakarta on Wednesday (27/11/2024).

Yessy admitted that she sees simplicity in Rano Karno, which makes her even more confident in supporting the figure affectionately known as Bang Dul. Throughout her acquaintance with him, Rano is considered a consistent, humble person who is always focused on his work.

"Rano has not changed since the past, he is just the same, simple, ordinary. That’s what I hope he remains, an ordinary citizen but with great work," she explained.

Yessy also considers the pair of Rano Karno and Pramono Anung as an ideal combination. Pramono has extensive experience as the Secretary of State, while Rano is known to the public as a regional leader who has held various positions, from Deputy Regent of Tangerang to Governor of Banten.

"That’s something that is sometimes forgotten by the public. People know Rano more as a celebrity, and that has been for quite some time. He has been around since he was very young, as Dul Anak Betawi, so he is a mix," Yessy revealed.

"I personally see Rano progressing, from a child actor to someone who is now assertive and can organize," she continued.

2. Rano Works Hard

Yessy's support has also grown stronger after witnessing Rano Karno's hard work during the campaign. At an event she attended, Yessy admitted to being impressed with Rano's seriousness in completing his tasks directly, without half-heartedness.

"So I see, he is someone who is willing to get involved and do his activities himself until they are finished, making him worthy of leading Jakarta," said Yessy.

In addition to highlighting Rano's abilities, Yessy also expressed her hopes for Jakarta in the future. She wants the capital to be a comfortable, safe place that supports the creativity of its citizens without fear.

"I want Jakarta to be a comfortable place for us to create, easy, facilitated in everything, in managing everything, without fear of going out at night, feeling safe and managing everything easily," she concluded.
