Celebrate 21 Years of Working, Ghostbuster Releases New Single

Kapanlagi.com - Some time ago, the biggest hardcore band from Padang, West Sumatra, Ghostbuster, celebrated its 21st anniversary. With the spirit and passion for music flowing through their veins, they have been able to continue their work until now.

Yes, creating music has become the weapon of this band, led by Aank (vocals), Yusyakh (guitar), Ibung (guitar), Danny Dagor (bass), and Fajri Arjuna (drums), to signify their existence. On their 21st anniversary in 2020, they released a new single titled Hantam Tirani.

1. Work of All Personnel

This song was created by Yusyakh, the guitarist. From there, all personnel worked together to create an arrangement with the guitar guide that had been prepared beforehand. It didn't take long for the song to be finished.

"The arrangement of the song 'Hantam Tirani' was done through jamming process with all personnel in the rehearsal studio, but the basic song in the form of guitar chord progressions had been prepared beforehand. Several rehearsals were enough to complete the framework of the song," said Danny Dagor in a press release received by Kapanlagi.com.

2. Addressing Social Inequality Issue

In terms of lyrics, this song is inspired by the social life that occurs in community life from their perspective. One of the social lives addressed in this song is about the inequality that occurs. The increasing social inequality between the rich and the poor, between workers and bosses, and so on.

"This song tells more about how we respond to that phenomenon by staying enthusiastic and continuing to create. Even if we feel uncomfortable, we still have to respond by voicing the restlessness we feel, regardless of whether there will be consequences from our attitude," explained Yusyakh.

3. Unique Story of the Recording Process

Ghostbuster needed extra effort to complete the song 'Hantam Tirani'. The production process of the song material, especially the guitar take, was initially done at Bardi's home studio from the band Raze. Then the drum, bass, vocals, as well as mixing and mastering takes place at 3am Studio, owned by Cimay Ardana.

"This recording process was quite unique because the bass take was done by Yoga Utama from Keep The Faith because Danny Dagor, who is out of town, couldn't attend due to the ongoing pandemic situation in the surrounding Padang city until now. For the vocal recording session, Maman from Raze also assisted," recalled Aank, Ghostbuster's vocalist.

4. New Album Release Coming Soon

The song 'Hantam Tirani' serves as a warm-up for the upcoming new album from Ghostbuster. Their second full album is planned to be released by the end of this year. Get ready!!!
