Contains 10 Songs, Slank Inserts Sharp Criticism About Taxes in Their New Album

Slank once again shows its fangs as a band that is vocal about social issues through their 26th studio album, Republik Fufufafa. Out of the 10 available songs, four specifically contain sharp criticisms of the current situation in Indonesia.

Some song titles rich in critical elements include Republik Fufufafa, PPN 12%, Alarm, and Nusantaraku. Additionally, there is a song titled Jangan Rakus created by Kaka to highlight the rampant phenomenon of corruption.

"Four, yes four. There is one more song by Kaka titled 'Greedy'. 'Don't Be Greedy'," said Kaka Slank when met at Potlot, South Jakarta, Friday (5/6/2026).

"That's also about criticism. What is it... actually these days we are given a show that, what is it called... about corruption, right," Kaka continued.

Bimbim explained that the basis of corrupt behavior is a feeling of never being enough experienced by the perpetrators. Besides financial corruption, Slank also touched on the "naughty" behavior of certain officials in their song lyrics.

"Corruption is basically about feeling insufficient until you eventually feel the need to be corrupt. A naughty corruption song. Let's get married again. There are four. The rest are love songs two, my story about my dad one. There are also some naughty bits," said Bimbim.

Although keeping up with the times in terms of lyrical themes, Slank emphasizes that they will not change their musical characteristics. Bimbim likens Slank to a legendary restaurant that maintains its original recipe even as times change.

"There’s nothing, Slank isn’t going anywhere. We always believe don't change the winning team. That we have a formula, we have a recipe," said Bimbim.

"Like a Padang Restaurant, it hasn’t changed for ages. But the themes and what we talk about are what evolve with the times," Bimbim emphasized.
